The team
Meet the founders.
A simple idea built by two founders whose passion is to help people feel better in their bodies.
Jorge Cruise · Co-founder
Jorge was born in Mexico City to a film star — a girl from Bogotá whose own mother gave her an education, a road out, and the instruction to never settle. When she died at 64, she asked him for one favor: meet Oprah Winfrey so this work could reach more people. Tony Robbins had already taught him that you get what you focus on. So he did.
Thirty years later, Jorge is a 13-time New York Times bestselling author of 39 books. Seven out of ten people he coaches are mothers and grandmothers — the women who take care of everyone else first. The other three? Usually gay men like Jorge, LOL. But a few famous straight guys always find their way in, too — Steve Harvey, Tony Robbins, even President Bill Clinton. Straight guys want to look good, too — and they should.
Stephan Peeler · Co-founder
Stephan Peeler is a designer, entrepreneur, and Jorge’s Sigma Chi fraternity brother. As founder of Peelers Apparel, he turns an active lifestyle into thoughtfully designed performance clothing, combining technical comfort, fit, and everyday style. LA Weekly profiled his approach in 2023, highlighting the product details and customer focus behind his growing brand. His entrepreneurial background also includes Carolina Malt House, which supplies locally sourced malt to craft beverage producers.
Stephan’s family roots connect him to Cheerwine, the cherry soda created in Salisbury, North Carolina, in 1917. That heritage offers a lasting example of how a beverage can become part of a community’s identity. The annual Cheerwine Festival, held in May, brings music, food, local makers, and tens of thousands of fans together in its hometown.
At Zero Hunger Water, Stephan brings a sense of belonging and community inspired by his family’s generations-long tradition. He and Jorge hope to create an annual gathering in San Diego, potentially beginning around 2028, where people can meet, connect, and celebrate a shared commitment to time-restricted eating and longevity.

A personal tribute
My personal tribute to the woman who introduced me to the world in 1998 — just a few months after my mother passed, and because of my mother's wishes. I am beyond grateful to Ms. Oprah Winfrey for all her support — not just on television, but also in her magazine and in her Guide to Life book.
It is my tribute to her to always include Psalms 37:4 on every Zero Hunger Water package, pouch, and stick — my way of saying thank you to Ms. Oprah Winfrey, and to God, for the incredible gifts and for this opportunity to bring you something that took thirty years of my coaching to create: Zero Hunger Water.
