I met Chef Emeril Lagasse through my friends at Good Morning America, where we were both regulars. He was exactly what you hope he'll be — generous, funny, and completely serious about food.
An invitation I never expected
Then came the invitation: come cook on my show. Not a quick segment — the full show. We premiered recipes from my forthcoming cookbook, The 3-Hour Diet Cookbook, live in his kitchen, and it was one of the most fun days of my career. Cooking side by side with the one and only Emeril was my first real cooking experience on television, and I'll never forget it.
The quote on the cover
"Recipes from my friend Jorge Cruise — where healthy food meets great flavor." — Chef Emeril Lagasse
That line went on the front of the book, and it still means everything to me. Emeril did not have to say it. He is the person who taught America that flavor is not negotiable — so having him vouch for food designed to help you lose weight was the ultimate endorsement.
Why the recipes still work
The whole premise was simple: eat every three hours, keep portions small, and never let yourself get hungry. Real food, real flavor, no deprivation — the same principle that runs straight through to the high-volume eating in The More Time Protocol.
