You don't repair while you train. You repair while you sleep. The deep window is not a clock time. Most of the night's growth-hormone release and the brain's glymphatic clearance happen in the first two to three hours after sleep onset, wherever that onset falls — the ring shows a typical 10p bedtime. What fixes the timing is light: morning sun anchors the clock, evening dark lets melatonin rise, and the repair window lands where the body expects it. The most common myth in sleep advice is that there is a magic clock hour for deep sleep. There isn't. Slow-wave sleep is front-loaded against sleep onset — the first roughly three hours after you actually fall asleep carry most of your deep repair, whenever that happens to be.

What the clock hour does control is your rhythm: when your body wants to fall asleep in the first place. Morning sunlight within the first hour of waking is the strongest anchor there is, and a late eating window is one of the strongest disruptors — which is why circadian repair and the 2-hour method reinforce each other.

Protect onset time, protect light exposure, close the eating window early, and the deep window takes care of itself.
