Thank you so much for helping me! This is amazing, I am only on my second week, but I feel better already! I was giving up hope of ever looking like I did when I was younger, but now I know I can do it, without starving myself or taking diet pills. This is a diet anyone can follow without joining a group or being restricted to only certain types of foods, just keep track of your s/c value and you are set....I LOVE YOU JORGE! lol I can't wait for your new book, I will be one of the first ones in line!

Hi Jorge My name is Joann and I have struggled with my weight for the last 10 years it pains me to write that i am currently about 70 or so pounds overweight and it is a constant battle it affects my health in so many ways. I have four children who are teenagers now and i feel i have passed on some of my eating habits onto my children . I avoid any family pictures my children don't have any pictures of me I can't stand to see myself this way i was always the scrawny kid growing up untill i started having children, I have only made things worse by trying all the fad diets out there. I'm not looking for a miracle just a way of life . I want to be around for long time so i can be around for my children and grand kids. I would love to be considered for the 8 week program and having trouble accessing the form to enter thank you Joann
Hi Jorge, I bought your 8 Minutes in the Morning for a Perfect Body book just on a whim the other day at the bookstore. "Why not," I thought - "tried the others, might as well try this one too!" At first, I felt guilty for eating carbs like; rice, pasta, bread etc. even though they were regulated portions. Those types of carbs were forbidden on my other diet plans. So, I worked your program; morning exercises, diet plan and stretching. And to my surprise, I lost 6 pounds in 3 days!!! (Yes, I peeked and got on the scale before Sunday morning). I am so excited about this program and I don't want to mess it up. This is my question: Today is Saturday, Cleansing Day, - I am an early riser 6:00am - had my Psyllium shake at 7:00 am for breakfast, but then I got really, really hungry at 10:00 am - could not wait for lunch at noon - was getting tired from housework and gardening - had to eat something, brunch (no animal protein) - Did I do the right thing? The book only mentions breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturdays.

Hi Jorge! I am 18 years old and am not comfortable with where I am at weight wise. I currently weigh around 160, and I know that is not healthy. I recently started being more conscious about what foods I am eating, but I do not know much about what types of food i should be eating that will give me the necessary nutrients but still give results. I know I am young, but I feel that it is best to establish a good healthy lifestyle now so that it does not get worse as I get older. I am very interested in joining your 8 week plan, whatever it may be, I am hoping it will help me become a better person health wise and put an end to my weight issues once and for all and allow me to establish a healthy lifestyle early on that I may continue from now on.

I have all the Jorge Cruise books but I am concerned with the 3 hour diet cookbook's recipe for the Flat Belly Shake. My book calls for 1 TABLESPOON of both the flax oil & the psyllium husk powder, yet my bottle of psyllium husk powder has 1 TEASPOON as the suggested serving size. Is the TABLESPOON listed in the recipe correct & safe? Thank you.
Jorge....or anyone else who has the answer.....how much protein and fat do you eat in a day to go with the 15 grams of sugar and 120 grams of carbs......and we don't watch calories at all?.....thanks for any input.......

I saw you on the Tyra Banks show today 09/15/2009 and you really got my attention on all the sugar free foods. I would soooo love to try out your stuff and see if it helps me out.
wow I looked up the sweeteners and syrup these are expensive and hard to get I really want to do this 12 week course I am tired of feeling tired and my belly being sooo fat I am afraid of not liking the taste I don't like diet soda cause of the after taste I hope that you pick me for the 12 week course I really want to do this other diets or diet pills have not worked

I am killing myself, just like my parents. My father had severe migraines,2 heart attacks at the age of 38 and died of prostate cancer at the age of 55. My mother died of complications from diabetes at the age of 68, the last 15 years or her life were very painful to watch and at the end she was literally praying and begging God every day to die. As you know with the diabetes she had many other ailments as well, obesity, congestive heart failure, quadruple bypass, kidney failure and transplant etc, etc, etc. My older sister currently had a heart attack at the age of 49! We never really were taught proper nutrition and myself, along with all my siblings, are headed down the same track as my parents...with identical health issues. We all have the very noticable belly fat that is indicative of deadly diseases, many of which we have been diagnosed with already. I have tried every diet out there and it just gets worse and worse. I do not want to follow in my parents footsteps, nor have family members do the same, and die of these horrible disease that not only takes away any quality of life but a person's dignity as well. This program could literally change a "heritage" being passed down from my parents to me and my siblings...to now my children, neices, nephews and grandchildren. I cannot wait to get this book and change a few destinies, the sooner the better. I would be honored to be part of, and to be considered for your 12 week program, so that I can start the change needed so desperately in my family and share this life saving information with them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the work you are doing! Do you have a date for the premiere of your book or The Belly Fat Cure program? Thank you again!

I just wanted to add how shocked I was to see how much sugar is in everyday things we believe to be healthy. I made a quick list of fruit that I like to see how much sugar......OH BOY - you will never guess. Check this out! I wish there was a master list of all the foods that we consider "healthy" and their sugar values in one place. Here is a start at least.
1 cup strawberry halves: 9 calories, 12 carbs, 7 grams sugar
1 cup watermelon balls: 46 calories, 12 carbs, 10 grams sugar
apple (125 grams): 65 calories, 17 carbs, 13 grams sugar - an apple a day?
1 cup pineapple: 74 calories, 20 carbs, 14 grams sugar
1 cup grapes: 104 calories, 27 carbs, 23 grams sugar
1 pear: 86 calories, 23 carbs, 15 sugar

When you say 15 grams of sugar/day is that refined or does it also include natural sugar found (as you can see above) in fruits? If it does include the natural as well how can you stick with only 15 gr/day when you have 3 meals and two snacks (usually fruit) a day?
Jorge: I notice you use alcohol sugars in your brownies - what do you recommend for those of us who do not tolerate alcohol sugars? I can't even manage sugar free gum without a lot of distress!
HOLY BUCKETS! I have to agree with Allie...I was going to start my 15/6 today because I had Lean Cuisine's, Healthy Choice and Weight Watchers meals ready for a quick dinner break today. (Plus, I am excited to get started!) When I checked the back for the sugar and carb content, I about fainted! I eat these every day for lunch. I had to dig through all the boxes just to find the one that had the lowest sugar and carb content. I am going to go to the store after work and start from scratch with the grocery list. I read labels before I buy, but never paid attention to the amount of sugar I'm eating. I am also a huge fruit eater, so I will have to monitor the amount i am eating! I am so glad to have been watching the Tyra Banks show yesterday! Thanks Jorge!!! :-)
15 GRAMS OF SUGAR A DAY
How is this possible??? By 8:00 this morning I was already at 21 grams. Did you know that skim and 1% milk have 12 grams of sugar in 1 cup? Along with my Honey nut cheerios at 9 grams/serv. How can anyone stick with it. Jorge PLEASE give me some other alternative food choices for breakfast,lunch,snacks.and dinner that keep sugar in check. I reallly need to this but as I'm looking at sugar grams on packages the more I am getting discouraged at the same time. I can not be the only one feeling this way. You have the means and know hows please help all of us and our children.
I too was anxious to get started after watching Tyra yesterday. I went to my local nutrition store today and bought a box of Cheerios (1g of sugar) per serving and use a 1/2 Cup of Half & Half (4g sugar) vs 1/2 cup 1% Milk (7.5g sugar). I bought some Sweetleaf brand sweetener packets, Zevia natural cola (yummy!) and tomato paste, spaghetti, organic spaghetti sauce seasoning, sourdough bread (the lable didn't list sugar at all) and they didn't carry Maltitol which I wanted to buy to make the brownie recipe. I think I will try it with unsweetened applesause with 11g per cup and then divide that by the numbers of servings I get.
Question for Jorge...have you tried using applesauce in your brownie recipe?
Well I am excited to live without sugar and limited carbs and lose this extra 35 lbs I'm packing around. Would be nice to have a forum or use this???? to help each other and share our journey.
I have 2 daughters at home ages 14 1/2 and 10 who are overweight and they want to do this too so me being the cook and shopper in the house - boy they asked for it - wink.

I would truly love to start the 12 week program, although, I am a little confused at how it works. I understand the concept of 15 grams a day, but do natural sugars from fruits count into the 15 grams of sugar? Also, does it prohibit me from eating a balance meal like fried fish, vegetables, rice, noodles, etc etc? I feel uncomfortable to just eating yogurt, brownies, cranberries, and ice cream every single day.

Here is just one of many options you will learn with me in my 12 week class... eat good protein in the morning... i LOVE eggs... whole eggs...i eat 3 each morning. 1 slice of whole wheat bread Ezekiel bread is my top pick (zero sugar)... and then i have coffee with stevia or truvia and cream. LOVE IT. I feel full for 3 to 4 hours. If you eat sugar in the morning... you will be hungry in less than an hour. Bottom-line eat like we used to eat 200 year ago... lean meats, good fats and limit processed carbs. Skip the fruit or milk for now... and fruit drinks.
If want cereal use almond milk and try uncle sam cereal.

I am with everyone else on this 120 grams of carbs a day which is 6 meals at 20 carbs each I can do that but the 15 grams of sugar a day, HOW? Other than fruit and milk I could stick to the 15 grams but with just 15 grams you can't have anything but one cup of milk 12grams and 1/2 piece fruit at best. Does the 15 grams count for milk and fruit or just everything else?
I was shocked as well when I went to my pantry to check the sugar content of the foods I have been serving my family. My daughters are very active, playing basketball and volleyball in school, burning a ton of calories at a practice, yet they still carry a little belly fat (not as much as me). This is very frustratring until I realized all the healthy snacks I pack for them to eat before games or practices are just loaded with sugar. The gatorade alone! We're switchning to water, but I desperately need to know what to feed these girls to keep their energy up so they do their best in their sports. I can't wait for your book to come out. Many readers said they needed a breakfast idea. Here is the one thing that I serve my girls every day that was actually a good choice! Take 2 slices of Arnold Select Sandwich Thins and put them in the toaster. Meanwhile, spray a frying pan with cooking spray and fry one egg., While the egg is cooking put a Morningstar sausage pattie in the microwave for aprox. 40 seconds. When the toast pops, lay it on a piece of wax paper and put a little shredded cheese on one side. Place the sausage pattie on top of the cheese and place the egg on top of the sausage. Put the other piece of toast on top. Wrap the whole thing in the waxed paper and the kids can grab it as they head out the door. This has 2 sugar grams and 27 grams of carbs. Hope this helps!
THANK-YOU Jorge I know you're a very busy guy and I want you to know how I truly appreciate you taking your own time and effort for answering some of our questions and for the great breakfast option you gave me, I also like Kims as well. One question that we all seem to have in common is natural and artificial sugars do we avoid them both?? I was always told to eat my fruits but they do contain natural sugars. Are you suggesting we stay away from them until we get our belly fat in control? Do you eat fruits if so which ones? Again thank-you for doing what you do you. You are making a huge impact on the future health of us all if only our government could take some control on all this sugar going into our food. It's funny because the last 2 years we hosted exchange students from Spain and they were only with us 6 short weeks and each one of them gained up to 10 pounds by the end of their stay. That is home cooked no fast food meals. One of them started swimming laps in our pool to start to get the weight off he couldn't believe it. I said welcome to America and he laughed.
Many of you have asked about the natural sugars in fruit... YES they count. If you have belly fat and a health challenge issue... they YES they count. The need to be counted. more to come in the 12 week program!!
