You already know that the wrong amounts of sugar (not calories) causes belly fat. Now get ready to discover one more hidden side effect... wrinkles. Below is my interview with New York Times Best Selling Author and #1 leader in anti-aging, Dr. Nicholas Perricone that I filmed just this week. P.S. I cannot wait to hear your thoughts specifically about how sugar is the secret cause of wrinkles.
It is amazing how sugar DESTROYS your skin. Just another reason to make changes in our lives and help others see sugar for what it really is... ugly!

Jorge:
Thank you so much for your solution to belly fat. I feel like this is the miracle I have been waiting for all of my life. I have no cravings or hunger on your program. My blood pressure is fantastic (it has been high for years, even with medication). I am confident that I will eventually be able to get off the medicine. I am not losing as fast as I thought I would but in three weeks have already lost two inches from my belly. I think the medication I take slows my metabolism but I am confident that I will eventually lose all of the excess weight.
Greetings Jorge!!!
I cannot tell you the great success I am having on your program as well as my 15 year old son. I have been on your program since January 1 and it is January 22 and I am down 21 pounds. I post on sparkpeople as "MotherandSon" and I am also "HippieChick" on amazon. In any case, I have always had beautiful skin, but I was noticing "aging" before I started your program over the holidays. I had no idea why? I only eat copious amounts of sugar between Thanksgiving and Christmas..and it is no joke!! My skin was looking HORRIBLE! In 21 days my skin is back to where it was before the holidays and I have lost 21 pounds. I LOVE the Belly Fat Cure. People who have not seen me since the holidays keep commenting on how beautiful my skin looks. This program is the TRUTH!! My son started out doing the program 100%, but he is a teenager and he drinks a bit of soda or juice on the weekend, but he has lost 12 pounds since January 4th when he started the program. I am actually going to see a co worker later this morning who cannot believe my transformation and I am letting her borrow the book. She plans on buying it; but she wanted to jump start over the weekend. I cannot wait until a few months to see where my transformation takes me and my son!
This program has been very enlightening, I have not lost any weight (really just wanted to drop 5 lbs) but my belly has slowly gone down and most of all...learned to keep sugar to a minimum of 15 grams. I love having ezekiel cereal with unsweetened almond milk and truvia in the morning, and it keeps the plumbing working great! I have also broken my starbuck habit (which cost me about $20 a week)from lattes and muffins. If I do go..its an americana all the way. I have gotten totally away from my candy addition and keep sugar free hard candies made with molital around my office. thanks, Bernadette
Hi, I am going on my 5th day, didn't lose this day, but have lost 3 lbs, and the tape measure says, I lost 2 inches already. I feel better, still trying to figure it all out. Trying to add some exercise. The news it helps wrinkles is exciting too. Looking forward to wearing shorts this summer, and most of all, a bathing suit.
I am shocked! Have lost 8 lbs. in nine days! Yippee! I have not been hungry and more content to stay on this eating program than ever before. I have attended 3 social functions where there was lots of food...because I ate before I went and was full, I had no problem passing on the bad stuff...I did take 2 sugarfree cookies that kept me happy.
I am a sugaraholic and postmenepausal at 48. I am very interested at this point in life at preseving my youthful look. Thankyou for the education on sugar and my skin...even more evidence to work at eating better. Keep the proof coming...sometimes I lapse and need the repetition, A lifetime of sugar is not easily undone! Thanks.!
I would really like to share your video links on my facebook page. Can you add a Facebook link to your website?
Thanks for the great info!!!

thanks for all the inspiration :).....in the past i recall a few researchers finding alternate effects of sugar......maybe u recall covert baley's -fit or fat- lectures/books saying that for fat rats cal/sugar heads to fat cells and fit rats had a detour to muscle cells as the body could anticipate a habit of exercise..... or something i think barry sears said with his books /etc saying food combining could influence how meals/snacks would effect blood sugar and general well being....something about a better reaction could be the next meal away if you indulge in too many carbs......anyway, i am going on and on but was mainly wondering if there is any new theorys related to what can be done to balance falling of the sugar wagon, thanks again, L
It's day 5 for me & I already feel lighter. It's been easy to 'stick to' because I planned all my meals in advance. It's also made me really aware of what I am feeding my 3 year old. We have never kept candy/cookies in the house, and he doesn't drink juice, but he did drink A LOT of milk. I never associated milk with something that could be unhealthy. We've cut his milk to 2 cups a day & are encouraging water now. Thank you Jorge!
I have been saying that sugar is bad for 30 years and finally science is catching up with me. After I quit smoking 30+ years ago, I switched to candy and gained a lot of weight. The next struggle was to give up sugar and I found that to be harder than quitting smoking and is something I still fight today. Now that I see how right I have always been it is easier for me to turn down sugar and most processed grain items in favor of fresh unprocessed veggies and fresh meats and eggs. Thanks Jorge for bringing this out into the light.
Please let me know why I am not losing I am doing your plan. And I think I am insulin resent I am not doing any sugar and only 5 grams carbs. Please tell me what to do to get me moving on losing. This is my 3rd week.
Need Help!!!

Well you have done it again! Wonderful interview with Dr. Perricone. Very informative and best of all, it is a interview that a nonscientific woman can understand and appreciate. You have cut to the facts we want to know.
His message has been there since day one of his career but most everyone comes away from his interviews thinking that fish is the only answer to healthy skin. Thank you so much for turning the focus to sugar, the real killer of healthy skin.
Earlier in the week I was sharing this information (from a previous article of yours) with a client and she stopped me mid-sentence and asked, "how do you know all of this in-depth information about our bodies and how our diet and foods interact"? My answer, "Jorge Cruise, of course. He is my go-to person when it comes to food and health". And of course, you now have yet another fan to add to your ever growing collection.

Thanks for posting the great videos. Living a low sugar life syle takes some practice, but it is worth the effort. Considering the high carb, too much sugar life style I have lived, I look amazing, but I can hardly wati to see what I look like on the right diet. Not bragging...just a little moment of joy...potential cuteness and (non-sugar) sweetness is achievable. I have been an emotional eater all my life, and have always had periodic intense sugar cravings. The one time I gained 20 surplus pounds I went on Jenney Craig and was back to a size 5 in a few months. As time goes buy, if you get sloppy and stop paying attention, falling into auto programing makes it easy to slip into old habits as the American diet is a sugar/carb minefield. The danger is, if you just exceed the "good diet" by just a little, you don't gain "that much" weight and you don't feel "that bad", so you just slip into low level "less than you can be"; the motivation to move from okay-to-great requires that one to pay attention. It is the slow decline that one day you look back and realize the dripping faucet filled the glass. This program has been great for me, and I thank you for offering the program. I was always a big fruit eater, drank fruit juice, drank a bit of soda, and though I don't like chocolate, I ate cake, cookies, donuts, muffins and the occassional pumpkin or apple pie. I grew up in a highly critical family where desserts were treats for being okay, and there was motivation to "earn" them. Our diet consisted mostly of red meat, potatoes, corn, macarroni and spagetti, luncheon meat and high calorie snacks like potato chips, with an occassional something green. I modified that diet as an adult, but didn't escape from the carb overload, nor the desire for sugar rich desserts when I need to feel "okay". Even after the 12 weeks, I am still struggling to stick to the 15 grams of sugar, but the plan is to continually rethink and review each day's meal plan. I eat in restrauants a lot and my saving grace is that I like healty salads and don't use much dressing. I am now focusing more on protien than ever before. The belly fat plan has identified the path, it is now the journey.
Hi Jorge, thanks for exposing this info and getting to the point!!! I also appreciate how you bring on other experts who have important info like Dr. Perricone and Dr. Weil. It raises my interest in their work also. You are not only a force to get people to fight belly fat but also a gracious faciliitator to help us more clearly (& quickly) hear the cries for less sugar from other respected experts. I just bought Dr. Weil's magazine this week, your book/videos helped make that connection for me. Thank you & thank you to your network of experts for the motivation and education.

Thanks for this new information! My husband & I have both had success with the belly fat and are still going-this is definitely a new lifestyle for us. We are both in our 60's so the idea of improving our skin tone as well sounds great!
The President & Congress need to read your book & change the Food Pryamid so the whole country gets on the same page & everyone stops eating over 200 grams of sugar a day!! Just think of how the costs of healthcare would go down- for everyone- & the better quality of life we all would have!! Thank you Jorge for being so inspirational to all of us!! Your 12 week program has changed so many lives in such a positive way!! My husband & I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your Belly Fat Cure!! We are both in our 70's & look forward to a long life of great health following the BFC!!!
I was out shopping when I happened upon your new book. I paged through it at the store. I loved the way the book was organized with very easy and well written food options. You have made it so easy for us to start a lifestyle change. I agree that sugar is the culprit to my fat belly and I plan to change it to a flat belly. I never knew there was sugar in milk. I;m learning and ready for a change. Thanks so much.
Jorge thanks again for the video. I’ve been successfully encroaching the magic number-15grams of sugar, however difficult. Today for example my sugar consumption was composed of the following: ½ cup of Kefir 4 grams, ¼ cup of tart cherries 8 grams, and protein shake 4 grams all according to labels, totaling 16 grams of sugar. I’m done and its only 3:00p.m., mind you I should consume another protein shake after my heavy lifting workout. So, no low fat plain Greek yogurt with almonds this evening as snak-4 grams of sugar. I really need some guidance. Thanks again!
Have been consistent since Jan. 1 and have lost 3pds. only have 10 - 15 to lose. The biggest switch for me has been cutting out the mochas and flavored creamer in my coffee. I live in an area where I can find lots of healthy alternatives, I now drink unsweetened cocnut or almond milk, yummy.
I made the brownies using whole wheat flour na xzylitol. They satisfied my sweet tooth without making me feel sick like most sugary desserts make me feel. I really think there are many products that people think are way too sweet.
This is a whole new lifestyle for me. I'm sure there will be occasions when I slip but I now have a new awareness about something I never paid attention to before.
Thanks a bunch!
@Albert - Try the Jay Robb protein drinks/shakes at jayrobb.com or also available on amazon -- they are sweetened with stevia hence no sugar. I also use Premiere protein drinks with 1 gram of sugar which I buy at Costco, but they do have other artificial sweeteners which are not recommended in the BFC.
While I was excited about being chosen in the Costco contest, my enthusiasm petered out when most of the items that you reccomended were not available where I live. I also have a very large family and trying to cook meals with the lists you provided got very expensive. While I do need to lose a large amount of weight, my husband and I are reconsidering what we can and cannot use in your Belly Fat Cure Plan. Thanks for sharing and the info though!
My husband and I started the BFC 2 weeks ago. I lost 4 lbs the first week, 2 lbs creeped back on and nothing the 2nd. My husband has not lost at all. we are following the plan, infact I am making several of the recipes in the book. I restocked my pantry with less sugar items are suggested in the book. still no fantastic results. What are we doing wrong? How much Kendall Jackson 0/0 wine is permitted daily? Is weight loss based on calories and/or portion sizes? We are definitly missing sometihng... please help.

For some reason the video keeps stopping. So frustrating, any advice? can I see it somewhere else?
Hi Jorge,
Really like the video on sugared wrinkles and who controlling sugar can help reduce wrinkles and bring skin back to life. Jack and I are on the belly fat cure for our second week and Jack continues to lose weight and inches. I have had some success as well. I finally broke 190 lbs., (I've been 198- 191 lbs for nearly 3 years), and my size 16 jeans fit soooo much better. My attitude has become proactive and I feel so much better. Even in this cold weather my bones don't ache at all. Cooking is not my strong suite though I've tried to cook some of your recipes with great review. I still hate cooking. I find myself eating more just in the prep for the meal. I'm chewing spry gum while I'm cooking, it helps to keep me focused and keeps me from nibbling to relieve cooking stress.
Thanks again
Julie Hipp
Jorge,
I absolutely love the Belly Fat Cure. I have tried so many diet plans throughout my lifetime only to lose the weight and eventually put it all back on because I can't stay on the diet. This plan is so different. It is not a diet. It is your lifetime eating pattern. I started the plan January 4 and have lost 12 pounds and 3 inches in my waist. I don't have cravings anymore and rarely feel hungry. I love the recipes and the simplicity of the plan. I really appreciate the videos and expert information you are providing for us. I was shocked to realize all the sugar that is in the products I was eating prior to reading your book. I now read every label at the store and make informed decisions about what I buy to eat. I do miss having fruits daily in my eating plan but now usually just have berries once or twice a week. Your food list is great. I made copies of it and carry it with me daily so I don't have to carry the book every place I go. I always look forward to your email messages and the videos. Great work Jorge! I can't wait to see the results in a month and the improvement in my skin!
Thanks,
Nancy
I am losing just about one inch from my belly every week since starting the program. It is enjoyable eating this way and I plan on eating this way from now on.
I recently saw your quick grab on the 'View' (it was seen on T.V here in Australia in the second week in January) and when I saw the ice-cream on the swap plate thought that this was for me and immediately sent away for the book. I'm on day three and have lost 2kg, about 4lbs? It's like I'm swotting for an exam, I've read “Belly Fat Cure” from cover to cover and continually check information and sugar/carb levels of the food I'm eating. Unfortunately we don't have the 'Carb Swap Products' recommended but before buying anything I've been diligently checking the sugar and carb components of each item and making judgments as to which are the best buys. The 'Carb Swap Food List' is proving invaluable. I cannot believe how much sugar I've been eating! Thanks for the video on wrinkles, another inspiration to keep maintaining the low sugar/carb lifestyle.
hi jorge, love this plan. i actually see the light. i have been thin for along time but always had a belly. with staying away from sugar my stomach is becoming flatter. i would love you to help me out when i go out for dinner. could you give me ideas of what to order when i am out. i would apppreciate any help. thanks again!
Thanks for that video. Its nice to hear different people and view about this. I have always been on WW and when I hit 30 in Dec I saw a difference in my body and decided that I needed something new. I cannot believe what I've been doing wrong this entire time! All along while I have been eating my Smartones, I didn't realize that I was being counterproductive. The sugars in things is just insane, this new way of thinking that is really easy to get on board with. If I can give one suggestion though... I would like to see the website be more helpful with suggestions about "takeout", etc.
I have just started the Belly Fat program. It is not too far off my eating habits, but my downfall was always a Dr. Pepper. Last year I noticed that I had wrinkles around my mouth--referred to as a "smokers mouth" --but I never smoked. My hope is that my skin will improved with this knowledge about sugar and wrinkles!
One thing I will share, is that I have a mitral valve prolapse and I have never been able to drink diet drinks. Every time I was given a diet drink my heart would start to "quiver"--the only way I know to describe the sensation. This was my bodies reaction to artifical sweetners! I don't recommend diet drinks to anyone!!!!
Jorge- I am a complete convert!!! You have never met someone who loves sugar more than I do. White birthday cake with LOTS of white icing, bubble gum (none of that sugar-free kind), twizzlers...I loved it all! My mom and I started on The Belly Fat Cure on January 2 and today, January 23, I am down 10 pounds! My stomach has flattened so much- I can't believe the difference. My pants are too long because now they sit further down on my hips and drag on the ground. All from my gross belly fat! I have been analyzing why this time things have clicked for me because things haven't clicked a thousand times. You have shown me a way to eat the most delicious food and not lose an entire category of food (dairy, breads, etc). I love using Ezekial bread- don't even miss the whole wheat bread. I have learned to make my morning protein smoothie with unsweetened almond milk and only 1/2 cup strawberries and 1/4 cup blueberries. I can still use the peanut butter, ground flax seed, greek yogurt, cinnamon and jay robb protein powder. DELICIOUS!!!! Please Please Please put out a cookbook with more of the unbelievable recipes. My whole family cannot believe what kind of food we are eating. Thanks for helping me- I never thought my weight would come off after 3 pregnancies and loads of stress. 5 days a week of working out wasn't even touching my weight.
Thanks for the book! P.J. Price
White sugar has long been recognized as the "other addiction of choice", it is well known what it does to a human metabolic system and when that is stressed out, the remainder of the restoration process of the human body cannot function at it's ultimate healing process. Your articles are very interesting and many things you discuss are appropriate to those of us concerned with all aspect of our health.
Thank you for your timely comments.
I read about this program that is called Happy Body, and in this program they say that you can't eat any fruit because of the sugar. I know that fruit has sugar, but I 'd like to see waht do you think about the sugar on fruits?
Jorge...please continue to inspire us all...Thank you for the scientific evidence to support your claims. Your lifestyle changes work!
This is a great video with information that really does need to be circulated, but really, this is nothing new. I read a book called Sugar Blues over thirty years ago by William Dufty who had photos showing himself before and after he quit using sugar. It was amazing, he looked 10 to 20 years younger in the after photo! He called sugar an addicting poison, a drug, because it IS addicting.
Keep up the good work, I find these videos very informative, please keep them coming
I've been following you for about a year and finally convinced my wife to get our family of 4 on your program. After 3 weeks not one of us has lost a pound. Fact is we have always eaten well and none of us are very overweight. I'm 54 and have started gaining some belly fat since 50. I weigh about 5 pounds more than I should, all of it around the midrift. My wife probably wants to loose about 10 pounds. Actually my kids 15 and 17 both need to loose 10 pounds. My wife prepares virtually 98% of our meals and we always eat 'healthy'. We like that you identified we were still eating more sugar than we knew. So we feel we are eating healthier. But my two girls are very discouraged that they haven't lost a pound. They are wondering if it is worth any extra effort. I've encouraged them to at least go for a month. What will I do Jorge if at the end of the month no one in the family has lost a pound ? Help ?
The Belly Fat Cure Book finally pulls it all together for me. I knew about the problems with sugar and artificial sugars, but not everywhere they were lurking. In 2005, I learned from Dr.Perricone about salmon, extra virgin first cold press olive oil, the benefits of good old oatmeal (and much more), but didn't have enough recipes with carb swap info to completely revamp my eating regimen. And my belly fat just seemed to keep "bouncing" around. I'm a small-framed, light-weight person (5'1", 105 lbs., size 4 or 6) reasonably toned (for my age), so my "inches lost" are not yet even whole numbers! But, I feel thinner, feel better, and I am not hungry, weak-kneed, or short tempered following The Belly Fat Cure. The recommended portions and the carb-swap info have been key for me. I can really put away larger portions, but obviously, that has been part of my problem. My midriff thickness is not just the belly, but the "muffin top" and the "back pads", on either side of the spine just above the waist. All these areas I can "feel" shrinking and my clothes fit better. So, thank you Jorge, and please keep up the info stream. It encourages as well as informs.
My husband and I have been on the program faithfully for 3 weeks and no weight loss. Our sugars generally run around 5g or less a day and our carbs are usually at 6. We have always had a healthy diet, very low in sugars, but seem to have more trouble with keeping the carbs in line. I wondered why you never talk about that aspect of the program? .... is it not as important? ... I am sure there are many people like us who have more problem with carbs than sugars who could use some inspiration as well!!!!
Also when you have a meal do you add all the actual carbs together then calculate the servings or do you calculate them per ingredient? For desert if its an hour or so later? Thanks for the help!
Very interesting videos on wrinkles and sugar. This is another incentive to help us stop eating so much sugar, flour and processed foods. Keep the videos coming. Also, when will Costco have more books? I can't find it anywhere!
I cannot tell you how happy I 'am that I found your website. This is the first time I get to know who you are and what you do. I'm on that same mission! To inform America that sugar is the number one cause of obesity in America. Fact: An average American consumes 150lbs of sugar per year! Wow, thanks to you I have discovered my purpose in life. I have discovered my #1 passion- educating America about how to eat healthier by eliminating sugar.
I'm currently promoting a great product called Yoli Blast Caps. It a vitamin delivery mechanism that comes in a form of a powder, just 10 calories and no sugar- just Stevia- the healthy sweetener. I would love to have an opportunity to speak to you and exchange ideas! I know your a health advocate & this product will help enhance what you preach and help improve lives across the nation!
Just check out my blog site and tell me what you think! http://www.BlastCapReporter.com
I have been doing this plan for 1 week and have not lost any weight. My sugars have been about 5 or 6 grams and my carbs are at 6. I lost 32 lbs on the Body for Life about 8 years ago and have kept it off rather well until the past 1 1/2 yrs. I have put on about 11 lbs. I am only 5 feet tall, 55 years old and weigh 127. I am frustrated, but will not quit. Any suggestions!
Hi Jorge,
for some reason i am not able to view your videos but i am more than excited to start losing all my belly fat. I have tried already cutting back on sugar but i am dying to see a transformation in my body. I really hope this works because I am seriously considering liposuction. I have been looking for doctors already so again i am hoping this will resolve my issue.
Love always,
Ellie
